Been There; Going Back

I've gathered you together here to celebrate another of Michelle Ward's Street Team challenges!!  Calloo Callay!  Gesundheit.

But first:

Ranunculus
As mentioned in my previous post, I am attempting to work my way back through the Street Team challenges I've missed.  Thanks so much for all your sweet comments on the last post.
The one I've just completed is last month's Been There, Done That challenge.

It's one thing to share, as I did last year after my trip to Paris, digital images and narrative about our adventures, and another thing to create a journal spread about them.  It really IS a challenge!  Until now, I'd not taken the time to do this.

As you can see, I think blue is Paris's color.  But, what do I know?  What color is Paris for you?  In any case, I'll be doing more pages, because these aren't all the receipts I have.  Oh, no.  And you know it's not all the pictures I have.

Speaking of Hanna's annual postcard swap, in Paris, I went nuts with the postcards.  I must have gone to every postcard kiosk in the city.  They found it amusing, as I can probably get all of these postcards here or online.  But, I just felt like indulging myself.  You know how it is, when you can just feel the postcards?

A smattering from my stash.

And, while we're on postcards, here're some of mine, in progress:

There's lots more to do to make them postal-ready, but the paper-towel backgrounds are painted, most of the stitching is done, there's some stencilling and embossing and stamping and a little bit of gin and tonic.  But you know that's not quite enough!  Now.... Pen Work!

I may have to sit down.

If you think you'd like a mailbox filled with postcards, join in here.

Oh.  and by the way:
Ranunculus!!

  1. Chris - bravo! Two crusades in one week! I'm happy to see you making journal pages of your fabulous trip to Paris. Where else does one keep the paper trail evidence that you had a splendid time? Love all the details here. The photos (and metro map) you've shared, provide a narrative of a-day-in-the-blue-city. Thanks for sharing with the team!

  2. I too, went post card crazy when in Paris. I came home with stacks of them. I have used a few in journals and art pieces, but most of them I just like to hold now and then and remember.

  3. The receipts are so cool; we tried to keep some from our time in Italy and they really do remind us of what we did and where we went. Blue huh? Hmm, need to go there and see for myself.

  12. My what an interesting post. Alas, I am too late to join in the postcard swap, but I've joined the newsletter so I'll be able to join in next time. Paris, I haven't thought of a colour, but seeing the blue, I have just thought of my mom's Evening in Paris blue perfume bottle. I love using paper towels in my art collages. Gret page.
