This year over at Michelle Ward's Street Team has been focused on self-discovery and self-revelation through journaling. This month, Michelle is asking us to share the music that we love, the sounds that accompany us in our artistic processes, and the songs that make us sing out loud.
There are so many songs I love it's very hard to list just a few. My taste in music is fairly broad, and includes new age instrumental, show tunes, grunge, and most of Johnny Cash's discography. While I don't go too deep into any genre, and am often ignorant of what's hip and happening, I am passionate about the songs I love.
This is just a smattering of what I listen to sometimes as I'm working, and what comes to mind when I simply HAVE-to-SING.* I've given each song a stage and spotlight of its own.
What music do you listen to when you are creating?
*(often, the entire playlist of OKLAHOMA!)
Almost anything with a decent beat! (but I like a bit of peace, too, or the sound of waves...or rain on the roof...)My, all this exposing of the inner self, you must be exhausted!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your lovely words ;)
Chris, thanks for turning around and making another crusade post follwing the last one. Bravo or getting it done. Love seeing your sing-out-loud tunes. I will think of you when I hear these. It is hard to list what you like as they don't come to mind until you're driving along and think 'oh THAT's a good one too'. My list continuew to grow.
ReplyDeletep.s. I spy some stamps ;)
My name is Erin and I'm an ABBA listener. I know, I know - but who could resist Meryl Streep in "Mama Mia"?! I love the beat - perfect for all my splattering!
