We both like altered rolodex cards, but I admit it had been years since I worked with cards, and even longer in the case of rolodex cards. The poor rolodex seems to have gone the way of the steno pad. But Andria not only enjoys and appreciates the humble rolodex card...she has a rolodex FILE wherein she places her altered rolodex cards! You know I would LOVE to see that file. (The rolodex cards I received through swaps a few years ago are simply filed in sleeves in a notebook.)
The cards I sent to her:
Three cards with painted paper toweling and doodles. In a plain white business envelope with a scribbled note on copy paper.
Here is what Andria sent over:
An envelope she created out of a pamphlet
from a site I've been dying to visit, Monticello...
...with art spilling from its contents...
...three rolodex cards, collaged...
front and back...
...a JOURNAL, created from an Airmail envelope
and lovely graph papers...
...and a hand-written card made by hand, with a beautiful,
matted photograph taken by a friend -On Location- in Morocco.
Now, I ask you:
Does Andria have some explaining to do, or what?!?
What a fantastic piece of mail to receive, love the old rolodex cards, I would like to see her file? I also love your paper towel pieces, so soft and textured. xox Corrine
ReplyDeleteWhat yummy mail to get! And the cards you sent were pretty spiffy too!
ReplyDeleteNow THAT's a wonderful surprise for you! Beautiful pieces from both of you.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your kind comments about what I sent, Chris. You photographed everything so nicely!! I enjoy all of our art swapping, and look forward to continuing to share.
ReplyDeleteWow! Rolodex - I haven't thought of those since I was listening to my 8trax and watching BetaMax.

Well it's a good thing you didn't show me Andria's goodies on
ReplyDeleteSaturday because they would have come home with me. They would have
wanted to come home with me I promise you.

wow oh wow!
ReplyDeleteyou are certainly
on
the right side
of andria,
i must say!
she is wonderfully artistic
& amazingly generous, to boot...
However,
i could not help but notice
YOUR cards
looked happy
& rather dance~y
& filled with artistic abandon!
all Big Pluses in my book...
say,
did you happen to use any Copic Pens
in the execution of you artWork?
i ask
because your colors look
a bit underneath the sea~ish,
which i think is a quality of the Copic pen
as
i myself have recently learned....
:-)
{{ what is a steno pad? }}
welll...
Deleteclearly i meant to say-->
'''...of YOUR artWork?'''
but a bat
must have come in an open window
to zoom around my head
here
distractingly...
so sorry...
Wow, what a delicious package to get, and what a great idea. Rolodex cards in a rolodex holder - what a great way to display them. I wonder if you can even still buy them... I love all of the cards, yours and Andria's - makes me want to give it a try!
