HEY!
You guys are amazing and amazingly wonderful. Thank you for reading my long prior post, and for sharing your experiences and processes with blogging. Being a blogger is such an enrichment to my already great life, and I feel very lucky to be in this place at this time.
But enough about how fabulous I am. I mean, it's a strain on credibility, really!
I've been busy. You?
Being on my way to my first Artfest, I've joined up with every swap they've got going. It's been a long time since I worked swaps, and I find it invigorating. There's a total-immersion thing when I'm involved in working the cards through each step. It's a slightly different sort of exercise than painting a canvas or a collage, or constructing a work in 3D, in that, at least for me, I want to make each card originally (rather than to make multiples of high res copies), and tweak it to be unique in itself while still fulfilling the parameters of the particular swap.
I would love to say I have amazing images to share, but when I photographed the ATC swap, I was under the clock, working at my job every daylight hour, and as they were going to press it was dark and gloomy. But this is a representative smattering of the 43 cards I made for that swap.
For the Artfest charm swap, we were limited to one-inch charms. I'm just hoping these 45 charms are all within that inch. I tried! But sometimes when I work with polymer clay, something magical happens and things get out of hand. I'll be wrapping these up later today and sending them on Tuesday.
For Shannon's International Postcard swap, I just completed these ten babies.
Now I'm beginning the 50-card 4x4 swap. I'm going to finish those before I embark upon the uber-marvelous Hanna Andersson Annual Postcard Swap, due to be posted by March 12. People will tell you, Hanna's postcard swap is a major highlight of the year. There's still time to join up, so zip over there!
After all of this is done, I will have two weeks to sit and ponder my good fortune before heading to Port Townsend.
I should have one clean teeshirt left to pack.
Next Up: Chris shares the postcards she's been receiving in the International Postcard Swap, and some incredibly incredible mail art she received in her rolodex swap with Andria.
